Pro Bono Week
Pro Bono week took place from the 21st to the 25th of October 2019 and Salesforce ran a great fundraiser where it would donate $1 for everyone who completes a brand new trailhead! Full details are here!
Pracedo is a proud member of the Pledge 1% movement and has a strong philanthropic approach throughout our company. We’ve caught up with Kristin Schutz, customer success lead, to find out what motivated her to implement the pledge at Pracedo.
What is Pledge 1%?
Pledge 1% is a group of organisations who are committed to giving back to their communities. We have all taken a pledge to give at least 1% of company time (usually in the form of volunteer time off), 1% of company profit or equity, and 1% of company product (in Pracedo’s case, that is our pro bono consultancy) back to the social sector. It’s as simple as that!
What motivated you to make this commitment at Pracedo?
Pracedo was among the first UK companies to take the pledge (it started in the United States). Our company has always had deep roots in the nonprofit and charity world. Our CEO and Founder, Matthew Schutz, was raised with the value of social responsibility, as did most of our employees. Giving back is something that comes naturally to us as a company. Along with helping our communities, it also has tangible business benefits with our employee recruitment, retention, and morale. Making the 1% Pledge is a way to put our money where our hearts are.
What would you say to offers considering taking the pledge?
It’s easy! Each company decides how and how much they want to participate. Your employees and business will benefit from it. There is no reason not to!
