We’re happy to announce that we have a new addition to our team, Karen Gaunt, who brings a wealth of business management knowledge to our business.
Karen is an experienced Executive Assistant (EA) whose skills cross-compliance, HR and organisation best practice. As Chief of Staff at Pracedo, she will help our business scale our operations. Today, we speak to Karen to find out what makes her tick.
Tell us a little bit about your background…
I worked in fashion after university, then I joined a group of recruitment companies where I progressed from payroll into compliance and an EA role. Once the group sold off all the companies, I joined Cloudreach as an EA / Assistant Company Secretary.
Why did you join Pracedo?
When I saw the Chief of Staff role at Pracedo, it felt like the job description was written just for me! I could take all the experience of working for different companies and in different departments and bring it all together, especially in this period of growth and change. My final interview was so enjoyable, which just confirmed that it would be a great company to join at a really exciting time.
What is the Chief of Staff role about?
It’s about enabling the business and the people to grow, while giving added structure and security in the way we operate to facilitate that scale up.
What are you hoping to achieve in your role at Pracedo?
To be a part of Pracedo’s world domination… and to encourage the company to embrace change as it gets larger.
Time for some less serious questions. If you could switch jobs with anyone in the world, what would it be?
I’d swap with Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director at Dior or Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. My two favourite fashion houses!
Tell us something that most people might not know about you…
I’m partial to a crisp/ketchup sandwich. I know it sounds gross but trust me, it’s good.
You never know what’s going on behind closed doors – so be kind, especially in this time, when most people are not face to face anymore.
